Canterbury team named for top-of-the-table clash with Auckland

The Canterbury Mitre 10 Cup side will acknowledge Dynasty 'Club Day' on Sunday, when they take on Auckland at Christchurch Stadium.

The team will be wearing their club socks for the game, and junior members from local clubs will be involved in a Club March Past around the ground prior to kick off.

Head Coach Joe Maddock has made four changes to the starting side, with Greg Pleasants-Tate, Luke Romano and Braydon Ennor all returning from injury to start at hooker, lock and centre respectively. The only other change to the side sees Phil Burleigh start at second five-eighth and Sam Beard move to the bench.

In the front row, Alex Hodgman will earn his 50th provincial cap this week, when he takes the field against Auckland. The Canterbury and Blues prop made his first class debut back in 2014.

Canterbury and Auckland currently sit first and second on the top of the Mitre 10 Cup Premiership ladder, with Auckland the only unbeaten side so far in 2018.

Kick off in Canterbury's match versus Auckland is 4:35pm, Sunday 16 September at Christchurch Stadium in Addington.
